When I told my boss that we were heading to Florence for a short holiday, he immediately recommended that we head to Cibrèo for a meal cos it was his favourite place to eat at the last time he was there. After doing a bit of digging on the net, it turns out that Cibrèo is THE destination for foodies when visiting Florence. The reviews on the place were a bit mixed bag saying that the resto itself was pretty expensive and that you were better off heading to the trattoria (owned by the same people) next door to sample the same food but for a third of the price. On the day we happened to be in the same neighbourhood as Cibrèo, we weren't feeling particularly ravenous so popped into Caffè Cibrèo for a light lunch. Luckily for us, there were no queues and we managed to bag a table immediately and sat down to some yummy hot soup, a small sambo with some coffee and cake to finish. Most enjoyable.....my only regret is that I didn't try one of the doughnuts that were perched on the bar......next time :)
